8 Weeks tomorrow!

Lydia will be 8 weeks tomorrow. She is full of smiles these days, but I still have to work hard for them. Lots of goo goo gaaa gaaa. But she eventually gives in and grins. She is much more alert these days and doesn't sleep too much anymore with a lot of noise. She loves to be up with the family and fights any and all naps during the day. She has passed the bad colic I think. I have been off of dairy for 3 weeks and I think that has helped her a lot. She doesn't have 6 hours cry bits anymore. She is getting very tall. We go for her 2 month check up on Monday, so I will update then. Luke is getting a little nicer to her but the jealousy is still in full swing. I can see improvement though, so that is something. I am enjoying our family of 4 so much and each day gets a bit easier as I adjust to having two and the adventures that it comes with. I am blessed and thank God everyday for giving me my wonderful husband and two wonderful children.

Somewhat of a smile!

Bed time routine!

I have always done a bedtime routine with Luke and he has always loved going to bed. So I started the same thing with Lydia. Bath time is part of that. Luke still loves it and Lydia does now too. She gets mad when I get her out, I think she would stay in the bath forever. Anyhow, I think she takes it as her cue to go to sleep for the night because she has been doing really well and sleeping 6 or 7 hour stretches. Yeah!!!

Drew's cousin Ginny came out to help me last week while Drew was gone for the 4th week in a row. She was awesome help to me and Luke fell in love with her. Lydia enjoyed sleeping on her as well. She is back in New Jersey now (Cape May) and headed back to college this week. Thank you Ginny!

Papa John, Mama B, Laci, & Julia's Visit

Drew's parents and the twins visited from South Carolina. Of course Luke loved playing with the girls all week. Mama B played with him the whole week before too. He was so worn out every day that he took really long naps and slept in most days. That was nice. We had such a good time, and I am thankful they were here because Drew was out of town for most of that time. He has been traveling a ton.

Lydia's Baptism

Lydia was baptized on August 9th. As her parents we are recognizing God's promises to His people. We are also committing to teach Lydia about faith in God. We can only do this through God's strength. Faith and prayer are the number one things we as parents commit to do knowing that only by God's grace with Lydia and Luke come to know the saving faith of Jesus Christ. I earnestly pray that they will know Christ as their Savior at a young age and understand the amazing grace and love that God extends to us through His Son.

Lydia at 5 1/2 weeks!

I finally was able to get a picture of Lydia not crying. She has been quite colicky (sp?) lately. Hopefully it will pass sooner than later. But here she is in all her cuteness.

Luke's Froggy Boots!

Luke's new thing is putting these froggy boots on all by himself. If I try to help, he doesn't appreciate it. He wants to be a big boy.

Visit with Bella!

Last week we went over to Carianne and Bella's house while Drew was out of town. Carianne was nice enough to chase Luke around for me. They had a great time.
